Local Laws and Ordinances

2. No vehicle shall be parked on any portion of any street or road in the Village of Shoreham in such manner as to obstruct traffic unreasonably on such street or road.

3. No vehicle shall be parked on any other portion of any street or road in said Village when such location shall have been designated by the Board of Trustees, as a restricted area by an order entered in the minutes of the said Village and duly posted in five (5) public places in said Village.

4. A violation of this ordinance shall constitute disorderly conduct and a person violating the same shall be a disorderly person and the driver of any vehicle, who shall park the same or any person in control of a vehicle who shall permit the same to be parked contrary to the provisions of any subdivision of this section shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this section and upon conviction shall be subject to a penalty of not to exceed two hundred and fifty dollars for each and every violation.

5. The registered owner of a vehicle parked in violation of this section shall be presumed to have been the driver or person in control of such vehicle at the time of such parking. It shall be lawful for duly authorized representatives of the Village of Shoreham and persons authorized to enforce or summon violators of its ordinances to place upon a vehicle violating this ordinance a summons to the owners or driver thereof to appear and plead to a charge of violating this ordinance. Places designated herein or in an order of the Board of Trustees, hereinafter adopted as restricted areas shall be marked by suitable signs conspicuously posted in the street where such restrictions apply.

6. The invalidity of any subsection of this ordinance or of any portion thereof shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions of this section.

7. This ordinance shall be immediately effective as to all persons personally served with a certified copy thereof; as to all others, on August 8, 1950.

8. Excepting in emergencies, no vehicle shall be parked on any Village street for more than four consecutive hours between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

9. RESOLVED that the easterly side of Woodville Road between Ashley Lane and Overhill Road is designated as a restricted parking area and no motor vehicle shall be parked in said area between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. A violation of this ordinance shall, in accordance with Section 45 (4) of the Village Ordinance, constitute disorderly conduct and shall subject the person violating this resolution or the person in control of the motor vehicle to a penalty of up to $250.00 for each and every violation.

   This ordinance shall take effect as of August 17, 1974, by order of the Board of Trustees, Village of Shoreham.

10. Sec. 45.10 Amended 5/14/76.

    The following streets are designated as restricted parking areas and no motor vehicles shall be parked on said streets at any time:

    1. the easterly and westerly sides of Woodville Road between Fitzgerald Road and Gridley Road;

    2. the northerly and southerly sides of Briarcliff Road between Woodville Road and Tower Hill Road. Any person violating this ordinance shall be subject to fines in accordance with Section 46 (5) of the Shoreham Village Ordinances.
