2014 Marks the 90th Anniversary of the 1924 start of what is now the longest running uninterrupted annual inter-community sporting competition in the United States-- the Annual Shoreham-Wading River Tennis Tournament, held each Labor Day weekend.
Pictured is the victorious and incredibly good-looking 1980 Shoreham Tennis Team (click on photo for enlargement). Many thanks to perennial Wading River Tennis Great Stephanie Bail for sharing this and many other wonderful photos of that event, which can be viewed on Flickr at http://flic.kr/s/aHsjR6doCx. Photos are by the late Irv Meyer of Wading River.
