Referrendum for residents residing within proposed boundaries of Village as to whether they wanted to be incorporated

Sept. 18Appointment of First Village ClerkResidents had voted to establish a Village, but the Village did not yet have a government to appoint its first clerk, so the Suffolk County Clerk appointed the Village's first Village Clerk.  A clerk was needed in order to conduct the Village's first election of its first officers (Mayor, then called "President" and Trustees.)
