Trash Info
Regular trash pickup is on Mondays and Thursdays.
Bulk items are picked up on Thursdays only. There is a limit of one bulk item per week. Examples of bulk items are as follows: chair, refrigerator, stove, mattress, bed frame, door, cabinet, table, recliner. No hazardous materials or paint cans are allowed.
In a week when a holiday is observed on a Monday:
1. Trash pickup is changed to Tuesday and Thursday.
2. There is no recycling on that Wednesday.
3. There is no bulk pickup that week.
Tesla Science Center will pick up your scrap metal; they can be reached at 631-886-2632.
Plastic and paper recycling is on alternating Wednesdays; see the calendar below for the schedule. Note: plastic #1, #2, and #5 can be recycled.
Glass bottles and jars are not accepted for recycling.

This site includes a list of locations for recycling glass. The two closest to Shoreham are the Rose Caracappa Sr. Center at 739 Route 25A in Mt. Sinai and the Manorville Compost Facility on Papermill Road in Manorville.
